The co-founding keyboard player, singer and co-writer of the epic 17 minute In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida on the band’s second album was 78. The single version of the song that filled a full side of the 1968 album established itself in the top 10 and remained there for 13 months. News of his death was provided by his son, Doug Ingle Jr, who posted, “It’s with a heavy heart & great sadness to announce the passing of my Father Doug Ingle.
