Nine Inch Nails To Score Upcoming ‘Tron: Ares’ Film – Theprp.com

Nine Inch Nails‘ core duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are helming the score for an upcoming Disney tentpole film, and it seems it will be under the Nine Inch Nails banner. The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame-inducted duo were revealed as the composers for the upcoming third installment in the ‘Tron‘ franchise, ‘Tron: Ares‘ tonight, August 09th.

The celebrated pair, who have racked up numerous Academy Awards, Oscars, GRAMMY Awards and more for their scoring work, were confirmed to be attached to this new film at tonight’s opening night of the ‘D23‘ fan festival. That event has been rolling out trailers and reveals for a slate of upcoming projects under the Disney umbrella.

‘Tron: Ares‘ stars actor/musician Jared Leto (of Thirty Seconds To Mars), a returning Jeff Bridges and more, and appears set to see a program let loose in the real word — a reversal of the franchise’s formula of humans being introduced into a digital world. It is expected to open in theaters on October 10th.

Both Reznor and Ross appeared onstage for the big reveal of their involvement in the film, which notably lists the music as being by Nine Inch Nails, rather than their more traditional credit as a duo. A brief advance look at the film was also shown

That news is exciting for long-time fans of the group, as the band have remained dormant since 2022 and last released new music back in 2020. Speaking in June of last year, Reznor explained that a change in culture and a busy schedule have impacted the band’s lack of new output.
